The chemical composition of rayon fiber is the same as that of cotton, so its properties are also close to cotton. However, because the degree of polymerization and crystallinity of rayon fiber is lower than that of cotton, there are more amorphous areas in the fiber, so the hygroscopic property of rayon fiber is better than that of cotton, and it is easier to dye.

The fabric made of rayon fiber has better comfort, brighter color and better color fastness. From this point of view, rayon fiber is suitable for underwear, but also suitable for outerwear and decorative fabrics.

The strength of ordinary rayon fiber is low, and the wet strength is even lower, only 40% to 60% of the dry strength; The elastic recovery ability is also poor, the fiber is not wear-resistant, and the elasticity and wear resistance in the wet state are worse, so the ordinary viscose fiber is not washable, and the dimensional stability is very poor, the fracture elongation is about 10%-30%, and the wet state elongation will be larger and the wet modulus is very low.
