2023 Lyocell fiber industry production capacity, recycled cellulose fiber variety structure and import and export

From China's point of view, Lyocell fiber belongs to the national strategic emerging industry, advanced process equipment, green environmental protection, can achieve resource recycling, in line with the development direction of the national "14th Five-Year Plan" outline, is listed as the "Made in China 2025" green manufacturing key development direction. In 2021, the capacity of Lycel fiber that has been built in China reached 280,000 tons, an increase of 37.93%, and the total output was about 99,000 tons, an increase of 118.9%.

According to the research data of the China Cotton Textile Industry Association and the China Chemical Fiber Industry Association, in 2021, the structure of the main recycled cellulose fiber varieties in China accounted for 87% of viscose staple fiber, 6% of Lycel fiber, 4% of Modal fiber, and 2% of other fibers.

China is one of the main consumers of Lyocell fiber, and the domestic production capacity is far from meeting the needs of the local market. According to statistics, as of 2022, China's Lyocell fiber imports were 90,700 tons, an increase of 1.98%, and the import amount was 265 million US dollars, an increase of 49.22%; In 2022, the export volume was 20,000 tons, an increase of 156.19%, and the export value was $47 million, an increase of 165.37%.
